Comments & Observations:

A snowy but not as chilly day for a water test on the lake! The ice depth was checked periodically starting from the Pine Shores beach area heading out to the deep hole. In all instances the ice measured 12” or more, including at the deep hole. However, be aware that ice thickness can and will vary depending on any number of factors. Secchi depth was a respectable 17’ and looking at the dissolved oxygen profile above, you can see that the biological processes of the lake continue during the winter as dissolved oxygen gets used up. This occurs because the ice over the lake prevents the wind from mixing the lake.
