Comments & Observations:

When I started out for the water test on this brisk, fall day, the winds were mild, and the sky was partly sunny. As the testing went on, the sky clouded over, and the wind picked up significantly. The small, electric trolling motor on my inflatable dingy proved no match for the wind and I was blown to the beach as I could not make headway against the strong west, northwest winds. The adventure reminded me that conditions can change in the blink of an eye with mother nature.

As far as the testing went, as illustrated in the graph above by the two nearly straight lines, the lake has fully turned over and restored oxygen to the entire body of water at all depths. This mixing should continue until the lake freezes. It is important to note that this is the first dissolved oxygen (DO) test conducted with the new meter. The previous DO meter has served us well but with parts no longer available it was only a matter of time before it needed replacement. Thanks again to the generous donors who made the purchase of this new meter possible.
