Comments & Observations:

I was happy to host a student from UMaine Orono studying environmental science today for the water test. All are welcome to participate in the water testing. Please use the contact button at the bottom of the website if you or someone you know would like to join me for a water test. The Secchi depth measured 21 feet and Gloeotrichia is somewhere between 1 and 2 on the scale (click the Gloeotrichia image to load the scale). Oxygen continues to be depleted below the thermocline and has not been suitable for fish and other animals for several weeks now. Oxygen won’t be restored until the turnover of the lake in the fall.
